US Defense Secretary Austin expected to visit Israel next week
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is expected to visit Israel again next week for the second time since Hamas brutally attacked Israelis in southern border communities.
Austin visited the Jewish State shortly after the Hamas terror group invaded Israel, which started the current war, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.
U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan will also visit Israel at the end of this week, arriving shortly before Austin.
The diplomatic visits from the American leaders come amid growing U.S. pressure on Israel to wrap up the ground operation in Gaza as quickly as possible and to avoid harm to civilians.
Several U.S. officials have visited Israel in the last two months, first and foremost U.S. President Joe Biden. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has visited Israel multiple times, including last week.
