Notes with instructions and fighting in civilian clothing: The change in Hamas’ combat tactics

The IDF is penetrating deeper and deeper into the Gaza Strip and exerting pressure on the centers of power within the terror organization.

IDF troops on the ground have noticed changes in the enemy’s conduct – fighting from within concentrated areas of the civilian population and in full civilian clothing, while attack instructions were found on the bodies of terrorists in case they were to lose their connection with commanders.

The IDF has noticed that Hamas terrorists have begun to wage real guerilla warfare from within the civilian population in the last few days.

The Evening News program on KAN public broadcasting reported on Sunday that terrorists are no longer wearing Hamas or Islamic Jihad uniforms, but instead wearing civilian clothes.

In addition, notes were found on terrorists with precise instructions – when to attack IDF forces, presumably the orders given to terrorists in case the connection with their commanders was cut off.

The fighting inside the Gaza Strip continues with intense battles between IDF soldiers and terrorists in the north, center, and south of the Strip.

The IDF has not yet announced full operational control of the northern Gaza Strip and is expanding the operation in the center of the Gaza Strip toward the central refugee camps.

In the Khan Younis area, according to estimates, the fighting will continue for months due to the complexity of the terrain and the underground topography. The headquarters of senior Hamas officials are located there, above and below ground, and is believed to be the area where Israeli hostages are being held.

On Saturday, there was a claim about a decrease in Israeli Air Force strikes in Gaza – so it must be said honestly that it is difficult to carry out strikes in such close proximity to the troops operating in Gaza. Another reason for the decrease in the scope of Air Force activity is the winter weather, which makes it more difficult for the Air Force to operate.
