Israeli security forces raid war room, destroy explosives in overnight counter-terror raid

During a joint operation by the Israel Defense Forces, the Border Police, and the Shin Bet security agency, a combat management room and dozens of ready-to-use improvised explosive devices were found and destroyed in the Noor al-Shams refugee camp in a counter-terror raid.

Israeli forces located and destroyed a room with surveillance equipment, computers and electronic devices used for planning and conducting terror operations.

In another room, the forces found and destroyed dozens of ready-to-use IEDs made from gas canisters, along with components for making explosives.

During the operation, the IDF bulldozed the area of the camp in order to dig up charges that had been planted under the streets. Several IEDs exploded during the excavation, including one that was built to strike the undercarriage of a vehicle. The IEDs were allegedly prepared and planted ahead of time to hit IDF forces.

Israeli forces encountered resistance during the operation when suspects threw explosives and shot at the forces, who responded with live fire. Palestinian media reported two men killed in fighting with Israeli forces.

An IDF soldier was moderately injured by shrapnel and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
