Israeli plane airdrops 7 tons of supplies to IDF troops fighting inside Gaza Strip

The Israeli Air Force parachuted 7 tons of logistical supplies for troops of the 98th Commando Division who are fighting in the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the IDF stated on Monday.

The "Afsaniya Menoheget" operation was carried out with an advanced operational system, enabling the equipment being parachuted from the aircraft to direct itself to the precise location of the Israeli ground forces.

This is the first operational use of the system, and the first operational airdrop carried out by Israel since the Second Lebanon War in 2006.

The Technology and Logistics Division and the Airborne Supply Unit of the Merom Brigade successfully carried out the airdrop using a “Samson” type aircraft of the Air Force’s 103rd Squadron.
